Abby Ince

Advanced Technical Artist

What is the weirdest job you've ever held?

Either the night shift at Kroger or the potato shop I worked at during college. Both had a lot of little quirks.

What is your favorite all-time game?

I'm a fan of the classics. Mario Kart N64 is my happy place.

What games are you playing right now?

Red Dead Redemption, Spiderman, Beat Saber, and everything that I've worked on here (Until You Fall, mostly).

What motivated you to begin working in the game industry?

I'd originally thought I would be going into film, but I was hooked after experiencing the immersiveness of gaming. Films are rendered from a single camera, which makes it a lot easier to make every shot visually appealing. Being a part of creating a captivating, player-driven world is challenging and exciting.

What inspires you?

Creating physical pieces of art. I'm getting into wood carving now, and it's incredibly satisfying to see an idea come to fruition in front of you.

What is your proudest achievement?

I was an honorary Cub Scout when I was a kid. That was pretty fun. But really, the first time I saw my name in the credits was a very proud moment for me.

What piques your curiosity?

Knowing how things work. When I was a kid, I would take things apart and try to put things back together. As a technical artist, that's something that I get to do daily.

What is your hidden talent?

I don't know about hidden, but people are usually surprised by the furniture that I've built.

What is the best thing about working at Schell Games?

Getting to do what I love every day, and having the freedom to explore the things that I am interested in.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

People are usually surprised that I grew up riding horses and that I can hold my own against a stubborn, half-ton beast.

How long have you worked at Schell Games?

A little over two years.
